Explore from The Fleece Inn, Lancaster

Staying at The Fleece Inn, Dolphinholme opens up a world of exploration. Historic City of Lancaster

A trip to Lancaster wouldn’t be complete without visiting the city’s historic castle. Founded in the 11th century, its primary use was a prison, although there’s so much more to discover on a guided tour. In the evening, you could catch live entertainment at The Grand Theatre or The Dukes, both featuring a regualr schedule of live entertainment and The Dukes also shows screenings of cultural and mainstream cinema. The Ashton Memorial

A tribute to his late wife Jessy, Lord Ashton, a Lancaster industrialist, commissioned Ashton Memorial. Nestled high at the centre of Williamson Park, it provides magnificent views across Morecambe Bay to the Lakeland fells. 

Also situated within the park is the Butterfly House, as well as a rainforest home to butterflies, you’ll also see Koi carp, tortoises, and more.

Morecambe Bay
