Summer might be over, but that’s no reason to frown! Here at The Fleece Inn, we’re busy stoking the fires and serving some deliciously toasty hot chocolates, because Autumn is here!
There’s still plenty to do in this stunning area over Autumn, so take a look at our round-up of Autumn activities and make the most of this season with your family.
1. Enjoy the scenery: take a walk!
We’re situated right on the edge of one of the most beautiful places in the world: The Forest of Bowland – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Watch the leaves turn and envelop yourself in the wonder of nature – right on our doorstep!
2. Light Up Lancaster
Taking place on the 3rd-4th of November this year, Light Up Lancaster offers beautiful cultural events throughout the city, from illuminated dance to fireworks and a backlit tour of the city, it’s an event not to be missed!
3. Settle Inn
Come in from the cold and settle down in front of one of our log fires. Enjoy a hot chocolate, glass of fine wine or a pint of local ale and spend some quality time with the people you love.
4. Go Star Gazing
Dark evenings in Autumn are the perfect time to fully appreciate the night sky! Rural Lancashire is free from light pollution, so you have the opportunity to see what a city doesn’t offer. Beacon Fell is just a ten minute drive from The Fleece Inn, and it offers stunning views of the area and open sky to rekindle your love for the universe.
5. Embrace History
Both the Harris Museum and the Lancaster Museum feature local history dating back thousands of years, and they’re within easy reach of The Fleece Inn. Why not take your family on a spooky trip to the past with the Pendle Witches trail?
If you’re stuck for something to do around Lancashire over Autumn, fear not – there’s always an incredible experience right on your doorstep! Ask our friendly bar staff for suggestions, or feel free to shoot us a message on our Facebook page. We’re happy to help!
